Qld man lands pinpoint lake backflip

Backflipping off a swinging rope and landing in a blow-up children's pool floating on a lake would probably rate a 10 on most people's difficulty scale.

But for Brisbane man Nic Raithby, it only took one attempt.

Nic, who dabbles in parkour and free-running, pulled off the unbelievable move at a Gold Coast lake on Australia Day.

"Yep, it was the first try," he told AAP.

"You calculate it a bit but just piece it together in your head and know when you need to let go of the rope."

Nic, an arborist by day, says he regularly rope swings but has never had any mishaps, apart from the occasional back slap.

The video, taken on Australia Day, has been watched tens of thousands of times on Facebook.

His next plan is to travel around Australia filming cliff jumps.
