Qld man charged with driving into woman

A Queensland man will face court after allegedly driving into a woman and leaving her with internal injuries.

Police say the woman, 50, was walking along Hornibrook Esplanade at Clontarf, north of Brisbane, when the man drove off the road and struck her.

She was rushed to Royal Brisbane Hospital for treatment.

Police say the pair knew each other.

The 55-year-old man has been charged with one count of an act intended to cause grievous bodily harm and is expected to face the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on Saturday.
