Qld man charged after drug find

A Gold Coast man has been caught driving with more than 10 kilograms of cannabis stashed in his car and a subsequent search of his house has uncovered a cocktail of drugs as well as cash.

Police say they pulled over a ute on the Pacific Motorway at Coomera on Sunday and found 11.3kg of cannabis.

They then searched a Helensvale home, seizing roughly $50,000 from the car and property, as well as 16 marijuana plants, 38 ecstasy tablets and steroids.

The 31-year-old man has been charged with nine drug-related offences and will appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.
