Queensland gun thief on the run from police

A man is on the run after allegedly stealing a gun during a robbery of a southeast Queensland home and then later ditching it.
The red-headed man, believed to be in his 20s, broke into a home in Nambour and stole a gun before fleeing around 10am on Wednesday, police say.
Police later found the stolen gun and are interviewing two other men believed to have been involved in the robbery.
Police could not confirm reports that shots were fired by the man.
Several streets were cordoned off and a local school was placed in lockdown but it has since been lifted.
He is described as having a red goatee and wearing a white t-shirt.
Members of the public are advised to avoid the area and not to approach the suspect.
