Qld govt to announce parliament date

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk plans to announce the date she will recall parliament on Friday.

The new Labor government has been focused on the recovery and relief efforts after Cyclone Marcia tore through central Queensland last week.

The premier was back in Brisbane on Thursday after a number of flying visits to the disaster zone.

Ms Palaszczuk says she has spoken with Governor Paul de Jersey about recalling parliament and will make an announcement on Friday.

"I will be making public tomorrow our full year parliamentary timetable," she said.
