Qld domestic violence court trial begins

Queensland's first specialist court dedicated to dealing with domestic violence cases has opened on the Gold Coast.

The court was established by the Labor government as part of its crackdown on domestic violence, which will also see the introduction of tougher penalties and the expansion of domestic violence services through Legal Aid.

The court will undergo a six-month trial to determine if it will be rolled out across the rest of the state.
