Qld detectives nab excavator thief

A man caught driving a brand new excavator that was swiped from a dealership south of Brisbane is facing a string of charges.

The excavator was stolen from a business that sells excavation equipment at Logan Village on Monday night, but detectives had a hunch about who might have stolen it.

When they executed a search warrant at a nearby property on Tuesday, they found a 47-year-old man operating the machine. He's since been charged with property and drug offences and will face court next month.
