Qld crews help battle WA bushfires
Firefighters from Queensland are on their way across the country to help battle the West Australian bushfire crisis.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services is sending six personnel on a seven-day deployment to assist with incident management, fire behaviour and analysis and aviation roles.
A large bushfire around the Waroona area, south of Perth, has already caused significant damage and disruption.
"Our emergency services are always ready to assist fellow agencies during their time of need and there is no denying that the current bushfire situation in Western Australia has been devastating," Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Minister Bill Byrne said.
"Our deployed personnel are highly trained in their specialist fields and will offer valuable support to the response."
