Qld cops seize 35kg cannabis, $108k cash

Nearly 30 people have been charged after Queensland detectives dismantled a drug trafficking network south of Brisbane.

Nineteen properties in Logan, Brisbane and north Queensland were raided on Thursday morning after a lengthy investigation into the network.

Twenty-seven people were arrested and face more than 55 charges.

Police seized $108,000 in cash, 35kg of cannabis worth about $840,000 and nearly one kilogram of amphetamines worth up to $16,000.

The investigation into the origin of the cannabis was ongoing but the syndicate had no links to outlaw bikie gangs, Detective Inspector Chris Jory said.

"However, it's clear that this is a highly organised group and there is a clear nexus between the drug market and also property crime," he said.

"I'm confident the investigations to date will have an impact on general crime in this state."

Detectives also seized a shortened 22 calibre rifle and two other weapons.

"A number of other people were arrested today and they will be appearing in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow to answer charges including trafficking in dangerous drugs ... and possession of large sums of cash," Det Insp Jory said.

He did not rule out further arrests and said police were still completing additional raids on Thursday afternoon.

"An operation of this scale in this district, it's been very successful. I'm confident it will have an overall impact on crime in the Logan district."
