Qld bush murder accused awaits verdict

A jury is considering the fate of a man accused of murdering an acquaintance at a remote campsite in far north Queensland.

William Darcy Reid, 22, allegedly stabbed Travis Davis the month before the 28-year-old's body was found at the Mona Mona campsite in 2013.

Mr Davis' body was too decomposed for an exact cause of death to be determined.

The jury retired to consider a verdict for Reid on Thursday afternoon.

Reid's former girlfriend, Austasia Kapteyn, has been jailed for being an accessory after the fact.
