A Queensland boy has been rushed to hospital in critical condition after suffering burns to nearly half his body.

RACQ CareFlight Rescue said the boy suffered burns to at least 45 per cent of his body, including his face, when his clothing caught fire at a property in Queensland's Darling Downs region on Sunday.

It's unclear how the boy caught fire but he reportedly ran into the family home for help, and his parents also suffered burns as they tried to put out the flames.

The father was treated locally, and the mother was flown to Brisbane alongside her son, whose age was not given.
