Qld bikie charged over puppy theft

A Mongols bikie has been charged with theft after stealing four Australian bulldog puppies on the Gold Coast.

The patched member is accused of stealing the female pups a fortnight ago from breeder Bianca Muddle's Wongawallan home.

The dogs were found after detectives raided the 26-year-old's Biggera Waters home on Tuesday.

He was arrested on Thursday and charged with one count of stealing or alternatively receiving the four puppies at the Southport Watchhouse.

"It is very satisfying to bring this matter to a successful close with the rescue and return of the stolen dogs," Acting Detective Inspector David Cove said.

Meanwhile, the four-legged captives have been returned to Ms Muddle.

She had offered a $10,000 reward for the safe return of her "babies".

"Finding it hard to accept what has happened and I pray that my little girls are safe and well wherever they are," she posted on Facebook.
