Qld and NSW discuss cross-border dumping
AAP
Queensland Environment Minister Steven Miles says he's discussed with his NSW counterpart strengthening laws to prevent waste being dumped over the border.
NSW companies have been dumping rubbish north of the border since the former state government scrapped Queensland's $35 a tonne waste levy.
"I was encouraged by the NSW minister's interest in the issue and his willingness to keep working closely with us to resolve the problem," Dr Miles said.
