Powerful surf to hit southeast Qld beaches

Southeast Queensland beachgoers are being warned to watch for powerful surf over the next two days.

Surf Lifesaving Queensland has issued a safety warning for beaches stretching from the Fraser Island coast to the NSW border.

"The forecast conditions are quite unusual for this time of the year and if you are heading to the beach for a swim, it's really important to be cautious and put safety first at all times," SLSQ operations support coordinator Jason Argent said.
