Police say school blaze deliberately lit

A school building has been destroyed by fire in Gympie, north of Brisbane.

Emergency services were called to a fire at the John Street primary school about 11.40pm on Wednesday.

The fire destroyed a school block and damaged a nearby shed, with detectives treating the blaze as suspicious.
