Police probe security threat at Qld school

Police officers have descended on a southeast Queensland school after a potential security threat was graffitied on a toilet block wall.

The threat at Redcliffe State High School reportedly warns of a potential shooting although it's unclear who it's directed at.

It's also unclear who made the threat but it is being treated seriously by police, a police spokeswoman said.

Police were called to investigate and provide extra security at the school on Friday, a Department of Education spokesperson said.

Classes continued as normal but student access to some areas of the school was restricted.

"Parents were notified of the potential threat and the school's response to the incident this morning," the spokesperson said in a statement.

"The school's priority, as always, is the safety and wellbeing of students and staff."
