A plan to turn a children's medieval theme park in Queensland into an adult entertainment venue has been stalled after the owners decided to give the failing business more chance.

Sales agent Michael Shadforth from Ray White Commercial told the Sunshine Coast Daily the Sunshine Castle at Bli Bli had been set to undergo an X-rated gentrification due to its size and underground dungeons.

"There has been a lot of interest from people considering making it an adult theme park," he said.

"We get more enquiries about using the dungeons as a venue for adult entertainment, 50 Shades of Grey style, rather than kids running around thinking they are Rapunzel."

The venue has also become a popular hotspot for couple tying the knot which has led to a boom in business over the Christmas period.

Venue owner Birte Benecke-Uhrig has now decided to give the park one more go and would only be considering selling the space if an extraordinary offer was made.

She told the local publication she has no intention of pursuing an adult themed park herself.

"No, I think it clashes too much with other products," she said.
