Passer-by stops Qld sexual assault

A woman who was being sexually assaulted in northwest Queensland has been saved by a passer-by who intervened after hearing her screams.

Police say the 33-year-old woman was followed and sexually assaulted in a vacant block on Railway Avenue, Mount Isa.

An 18-year-old man, who allegedly fled the scene when the passer-by intervened, will face court on Tuesday charged with sexual assault, assault with intent to commit rape and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
