No Qld croc cull under LNP plan

Dangerous crocodiles will be killed if they can't be moved to a sanctuary under the Queensland LNP's management plan, but the party says it isn't the start of a widespread cull.

As part of the policy eggs would also be harvested in a bid to control crocodile population, LNP Hinchinbrook MP Andrew Cripps said on Sunday.

"While no waterway in North Queensland can ever be 100 per cent risk-free, the LNP believes there is much more that can be done to keep local communities safe and this new management plan is aimed at protecting our lifestyle, without resorting to extreme policies" he said.
