Neighbour crash tackles Qld gunman

A neighbour has tackled and restrained a man who was firing a sawn-off shotgun in the backyard of a house south of Brisbane.

The neighbour pounced on the man when he walked onto the street in Mount Warren Park after letting off a series of shots on Sunday afternoon.

He restrained the gunman until police arrived, with officers finding a shotgun, ammunition and drugs on the alleged offender. It's also alleged he had a knife.

The 26-year-old is facing a string of charges including burglary, being armed to cause fear, possessing ammunition, possessing a knife in a public place, and unlawful possession of a shortened firearm.

He's also accused of trespass, threatening violence, discharging a firearm, and possessing dangerous drugs.

He is expected to face the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday.
