Murder charge after man dies in Qld jail

A prisoner has been charged with murder after another inmate died in a Queensland prison cell.

Glenn Ryan Clarke, 42, is alleged to have murdered Nicholas Paul Triggs, 27, on Saturday at Borallon Training and Correctional Centre in Ironbark, near Ipswich.

Triggs was found unconscious in his cell about 5.30am and was declared dead at the scene after attempts to revive him failed, police said on Monday.

Clarke appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court late on Monday and was remanded in custody to reappear on July 8.
