Man faces court for allegedly wounding cop

A man has faced court in Brisbane for allegedly wounding a police officer in the jaw with a pair of scissors.

Dylan Patrick Briscoe, 25, was charged with serious assault after injuring the 54-year-old sergeant during a brief struggle on Grey St in South Brisbane on Friday night.

Briscoe was remanded in custody on Saturday and will reappear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.

The police officer is receiving treatment for non-life threatening injuries at Princess Alexandra Hospital.
