Man charged over Qld stabbing murder

A man has been charged over an alleged stabbing murder in Queensland's north.

Police were responding to reports of a disturbance when they found a 32-year-old man dead at a unit complex in Charters Towers early on Thursday.

Senior Sergeant Graham Lohman said police were investigating the disturbance heard before the body was found.

He did not reveal whether the victim knew his attacker or whether police thought there was anyone else involved.

A 26-year-old Rockhampton man has been charged with murder and is expected to face Townsville Magistrates Court on Friday.
