A man charged in connection with three unsolved Brisbane murders from 1974 has been granted bail during a brief court appearance.

Thomas Edward Martin, 66, is charged with drug trafficking offences following police raids earlier this month, which allegedly uncovered $300,000 in cash and 50kg of cannabis.

Police allege he is a close associate of a man suspected of being linked to the triple murders.

Barbara McCulkin, 34, and her daughters Vicki Maree, 13, and Barbara Leanne, 11, were last seen at their Highgate Hill home on January 16, 1974 and have never been found.

Earlier this month, police raided a rural property at Warwick, in Queensland's south, after receiving new information into the cold case.

This led to Martin's arrest.

He had to surrender his passport after a Toowoomba magistrate granted him bail on Friday.

The case was adjourned until December.
