Qld man charged over stabbing murder

A man accused of fatally stabbing an associate after an argument at a central Queensland home has been charged with murder.

Andrew Vesey-Brown, 23, died in hospital on Monday night after he was allegedly attacked at a Gladstone unit.

A 29-year-old was charged on Tuesday evening, following a day in which officers and SES combed bushlands in an unsuccessful search for the murder weapon.

While looking for the 29-year-old detectives found a disused meth lab in a house close to the unit where Mr Vesey-Brown was allegedly murdered.

A sharp-edged weapons expert is due to conduct a postmortem on Mr Vesey-Brown on Wednesday.

The alleged murderer, who is known to police, is expected appear at Gladstone Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
