Home of fatal Qld stabbing known to police
A house where a north Queensland man was found stabbed to death on the footpath was known to police.
The 37-year-old, who had a stab wound to the chest, couldn't be revived when emergency services arrived at the Townsville suburb of Hermit Park on Sunday night.
Detective Superintendent Ray Rohweder said police had been called to the address on previous occasions.
He couldn't confirm if the suspected murder was in relation to drugs.
It's believed a fight broke out at the house before the man's death.
Another altercation, believed to be related to the incident, also occurred at a nearby shopping centre on Sunday afternoon.
Police have interviewed several people believed to be involved in the fights, but no one has been charged over the man's death.
Det Supt Rohweder couldn't confirm if the murder weapon had been recovered.
A crime scene will remain at the house throughout Monday afternoon and Tuesday.
