Man bashed with wood in Qld home invasion

A man has been bashed with a piece of wood and a woman has cuts to her hand after a violent home invasion north of Brisbane.

Police say two attackers - one armed with a piece of timber, the other with a knife - confronted the pair when they returned to a Deception Bay property about 11am on Thursday.

The offenders attacked the man, 23, and the woman, 24, while demanding the keys to their car. Both needed treatment in hospital.

One of the offenders fled in that vehicle, the other in the car they used to get to the property.

One man has been charged so far. The 24-year-old will front the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on Friday on charges including assault and grievous bodily harm.
