Man attacks boy with post in far north Qld

A man is accused of hitting a 10-year-old boy in the head with a fence post in far north Queensland.

The boy sustained cuts in the attack at Normanton and was taken to Mt Isa Hospital as a precaution, police say.

A 39-year-old man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and possession of a dangerous drug.
