A little lost lamb has been reunited with its family after being found wandering near a railway line south of Brisbane.

It's unknown how the scared sheep found its way onto the wrong side of the tracks at Loganlea on Wednesday morning but Queensland Rail workers swiftly came to the rescue.

"Our crews quickly responded and helped the frightened lamb," a QR spokeswoman said.

"It has now been reunited with the rest of its family, who were reportedly beside themselves with worry."

The lamb's owners lived on a nearby property.

Queensland Rail posted an image on their Facebook page saying the lamb was saved from a "b-aa-aa-aa-d situation".
