A Queensland family of nine have lost everything including a pet dog after a fire tore through their home in Logan.

Five people inside the home at the time managed to escape the fire but tragically their Maltese dog Casper died, the Courier Mail reports.

Lineh Malaloi said she was alerted to the blaze by her brother screaming "fire".

"I looked out and saw the tree was on fire and it was coming towards the house," Ms Malaloi told the Courier Mail.

"My brother ran to get my dad and pulled him out."

She said the home was engulfed in a matter of minutes and by the time she had run out of the house it was too late to go back inside and get their pet dog Casper.

It is the third fire in the Logan area in a matter of days, with a woman and her toddler killed in a unit blaze on Sunday and a classroom destroyed at Mabel Park earlier today.

Ms Malaloi said her family had lost everything in the fire, but a neighbouring family had stepped in to provide them with bags of blankets and clothes.

Investigators are now looking into what started the blaze.
