The Queensland government will consider introducing a Human Rights Act for the state.

Attorney-General Yvette D'Ath says parliament's legal affairs committee will hold an inquiry in the matter and will accept public submissions.

"The protection of human rights is central to the Palaszczuk government's values and it is an issue that many people in Queensland are passionate about and have advocated in favour of," Ms D'Ath said, indicating the committee will report back to parliament by November 30 next year.
