Hobbs' LNP replacement named in Warrego

Electorate officer Ann Leahy has been named as the Liberal National Party's candidate for Warrego at the next Queensland election.

Ms Leahy replaces retiring LNP stalwart Howard Hobbs, who has represented the southwest Queensland electorate since 1986.

LNP president Bruce McIver said Ms Leahy's experience as an electorate officer and ministerial researcher would help her successfully represent the huge rural electorate.

"She has a keen interest and experience in politics and will use that knowledge to be a strong and committed representative for Warrego," he said.

The state election is next year.
