A pilot mustering cattle has died in a fiery crash after his helicopter hit power lines in outback Queensland.

Emergency services were called to a property on Sedan Dip Rd, about 20km north of Cloncurry, about 7.15am on Wednesday morning.

Initial investigations revealed the helicopter caught fire after it struck power lines and crashed into a paddock.
