He's the uncontactable MP.

The phone lines to controversial far north Queensland MP Billy Gordon's two electoral offices have not been working for at least the past three days and angry constituents say they have not been able to get in touch with him for months.

And to contact him for this story AAP tried four mobile phones numbers said to have been used by him since his election in early 2015.

Three were disconnected, while one was answered by a confused sounding man called Tony.

Mr Gordon's political career so far has been tumultuous.

He resigned from Labor last April over an undisclosed criminal record and allegations of domestic violence, from which no charges resulted.

And in October, two of his electoral staff walked out.

But frustrated locals say they don't mind his past as much as his current inaction.

Daintree business owner Lawrence Mason, who has attempted to contact the MP about concerns over a local boardwalk, said he has only fostered negative perceptions.

"If he was an effective member for Cook, I think most people would forget about it," he told AAP.

Mr Mason also described Mr Gordon's electoral office as "not particularly responsive" and said the cross bencher measured up poorly compared to previous LNP and Labor MPs, who travelled the Cape regularly.

"He's shown no real interest in the Daintree community at all," he said.

"I've kind of written him off as useless."

Mr Gordon handed out his personal contact details at a June 2015 meeting regarding the power issue but Mr Lapaer has never been able to contact him since.

"You should be able to contact him - we're paying him to represent our interests," he said.

"We pay our taxes, he gets paid a fat salary."
