Gold Coast lawyer charged after drugs raid

Police have charged a Gold Coast lawyer with drug offences.

The lawyer was arrested following a raid on a hotel in Broadbeach on Wednesday morning by detectives from Taskforce Maxima.

Police will allege a search of the hotel unit resulted in the discovery of ice and other drugs as well as drug paraphernalia and suspected stolen property.

The lawyer has been charged with three counts of possessing a dangerous drug and possession of a drug utensil as well as one count each of possession of drug property and unlawful possession of a restricted drug.

She has been remanded in custody and will face Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday.
