Gold Coast murder search comes up empty

Police are unlikely to conduct any more searches for evidence in the stabbing murder of a Gold Coast teen.

A search by State Emergency Services officers and police in the suburb of Bundall on Tuesday failed to find any evidence linked to the murder of Michael Brack.

The 16-year-old died after collapsing on the front yard of a property on Allawah Street shortly after he'd been stabbed on Saturday night.

Ryan John Howes, 23, has been charged with the teen's murder after being pulled out of the roof of a neighbouring street following a four-hour manhunt on Monday.

Howes faced Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday and has been remanded in custody.

Detective Superintendent Dave Hutchinson told reporters on Wednesday that the previous day's search hadn't uncovered any new evidence and no further searches were planned.

Howes is set to have his case mentioned in court again on January 12.
