Brisbane detective charged with hacking

A senior Brisbane police officer has been charged by the Crime and Corruption Commission, accused of accessing the police database for his personal use.

The CCC says the 43-year-old detective senior constable accessed QPRIME 10 times last year to make checks that were not authorised for legitimate work purposes.

He is will appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on April 17 on 10 counts of computer hacking.

Queensland Police Ethical Standards Command have been notified about the charges.

Queensland Police have been contacted for comment.
