Community raises $21,000 for Ofner family

More than $21,000 has been raised to support the family of Johann Ofner, who was shot and killed while filming a music clip for hip hop band Bliss N Esso in Brisbane.

Friend Johno MacNeil set up the GoFundMe page to help "take some of the financial burden away from his family and loved ones in such a sad time".

More than 350 people have raised $21,085 for the 28-year-old's family in less than 48 hours.

Mr Ofner's partner, Samaya Grace, posted a message of thanks on the website, saying the money would help support the pair's daughter.

"She can keep on track with her training and activities because she wanted and even more so now - (she) want(ed) to be a ninja just like her daddy and hero," she wrote.

Ms Grace said she had been brought to tears by the generosity of friends and complete strangers.

"Thank you so much," she wrote.

A police investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr Ofner's shock death on Monday is expected to take weeks.

Bliss N Eso management confirmed the gun used to shoot the father-of-one in the chest was loaded with blanks, a type of cartridge that has no bullet but contains gunpowder and is still dangerous when fired.

Mr Ofner, a stuntman and actor, was being remembered by his friends as a loving father and inspiration to many.
