Female intruder loses gun in botched crime

A woman in a balaclava has shot a man in the leg during a Brisbane home invasion.

Police say the woman broke into a house at Crestmead on Monday night and opened fire on a man after he confronted her.

Another resident managed to disarm her before she fled.

She remains on the run.

The 48-year-old victim was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
