Father allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint from Ipswich home

A man has been charged over the alleged kidnapping of a father at a home in Ipswich, south-west of Brisbane on Saturday night.

It is alleged that three men, who are known to the victim, went to a house in Nelson Street, Bundamba, just after 9.30.

The men allegedly threatened the man with a firearm and he was forced get into a car.

Police said the man, in his 40s, was driven in the car, before being released at Brassall.

He suffered minor injuries and was treated by doctors.

A 30-year-old Redbank Plains man has been charged with one count each of kidnapping, robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm and possess by night instrument of house breaking.

He is expected to appear at the Ipswich Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Neighbours told 9NEWS the incident occurred in front of man's young children.
