Emergency situation over at Brisbane house

Two men and a woman are being questioned by police after reports of threats shut down streets in a Brisbane suburb.

Police declared an emergency situation at Wavell Heights just before 3.30pm on Tuesday after receiving information about several men making threats inside a Newman Street house.

A number of streets were closed, with residents told to stay indoors and motorists urged to avoid the area.

The emergency situation was resolved without incident and streets reopened at 5pm.
