Man in his 50s left with serious lacerations after kangaroo attack in central Queensland
A man has been hospitalised with serious injuries after he was attacked by a kangaroo in central Queensland.
The man, aged in his 50s, was left with serious lacerations to the arms and chest and hip injuries after the altercation with a kangaroo in Emerald, around 240km west of Rockhampton, about 11.52am yesterday.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) confirmed the man was on a private property when he was attacked.

He was taken to Emerald Hospital in a stable condition and has since been airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital by the Rural Flying Doctors Service.

Queensland's Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation, which is responsible for incidents in the state involving native animals, said it was aware of the attack.
