Dispute means free Brisbane ferry service
AAP
Industrial action by Brisbane ferry staff means commuters will get a free morning service.
Brisbane Ferries workers who are locked in a dispute over penalty rates and overtime pay have voted not to collect passenger fares between 5.30am and 9.30am on Tuesday, the Queensland branch of the Maritime Union of Australia says.
"These workers take pride in the service they provide, which is why their industrial action will not involve a disruption to services. In fact we encourage commuters to use the free service," MUA Queensland deputy branch secretary Jason Miners said.
