Coal royalties to fund jobs in Queensland
AAP
Coal royalties will be funnelled into new programs to boost jobs in regional Queensland.
Treasurer Curtis Pitt is expected to announce a regional jobs package when he releases his mid-year fiscal and economic review on Tuesday, The Courier-Mail reports.
Some of the money for the package will come from a $1 billion boost to the budget on the back of surging coal royalties, the paper reports.
