Chopper hunts for Queensland man making threats

An air and ground search is underway north of Brisbane after reports of a man making violent threats.

The police helicopter and dog squad officers are searching an area near Uhlmann Road at Burpengary, about 35km north of Brisbane.

A member of the public reported hearing a man making threats at a boat ramp at Burpengary early on Tuesday morning, police told AAP.

An air and ground search is continuing in an effort to locate the man said to have made the threats, amid witness reports he could be armed, police said.
