Cabbie tied to seat during Qld robbery

A taxi driver has had his hands tied behind his seat during an armed robbery west of Brisbane.

Police say the driver picked up a man in Brisbane and drove him to the Ipswich suburb of Bundamba around midnight, where the passenger produced a knife, tied up the cabbie and robbed him before fleeing on foot.

The alleged robber was found in the yard of a nearby property after the dog squad was called in.

He was arrested without incident and will front the Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday, charged with robbery and fraud.

The driver was shaken by his ordeal but wasn't physically harmed.
