Butcher's truck ploughs into Queensland retiree's home
An out-of-control butcher's truck has allegedly led police on a 45-minute pursuit across Queensland's south-east before it smashed into cars and a home.
Retiree Bruce Shoobridge said he was watching TV in his living room on Monday when the truck slammed into the deck of his Mansfield home.
Police said Matthew David Trevor was allegedly behind the wheel after the vehicle was swiped from Mooloolaba Wharves that morning.

Its driver ducked in to deliver a restaurant's order and was only gone a matter of minutes. But when he returned, the truck was nowhere to be seen.
Cameras later captured the vehicle pulling into a Sunshine Coast hardware store.
Police said Trevor hopped out with a woman and went inside to buy cans of silver spray paint.
The logos on the vehicle later appeared to be painted over but were still visible.

Loyal customers called in sightings on the Bruce Highway.
PolAir tracked the truck from above as it headed south towards Brisbane.
Shoobridge's back deck is where the mayhem came to a crashing conclusion.
"The whole house shook and I just thought 'what the f---?'," he said.
Damien John from Fresh Meats said there was more at stake than the truck.
"Everything up to $40,000 worth, including the meat that was damaged, that's going to have to be disposed of," he said.
Trevor has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, robbery with violence, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and three counts each of stealing and possession of dangerous drugs.
His matter was adjourned today and will return to Cleveland Magistrates Court tomorrow.
