Fast-moving bushfire sweeps through Wide Bay region near Bundaberg

Residents are being warned to prepare evacuation plans as a bushfire burns through Queensland's Wide Bay region, near Bundaberg.

Firefighters are struggling to contain the large, fast-moving fire near Calavos, and are urging residents to leave their homes.

Power, water and phone lines may be hampered by the fire over the next few hours, Queensland Rural Fire Service warned.

Multiple crews have also been fighting a large grass fire burning further north, near the Burnett Highway, west of Gladstone.
