Burst tyre leaves plane circling Brisbane

A Virgin Australia flight has spent hours circling over Brisbane after its tyre burst on take off.

The tyre burst as flight VA74 left Brisbane, bound for Perth, about 9pm on Monday and it was safely back on the ground a few hours later after remaining in the air to burn fuel.

Passengers spent the night in Brisbane and they will be put on another flight on Tuesday morning.
