Man critical, teen charged as police ‘pelted with bottles at party’

A man is in a critical condition and glass bottles were allegedly thrown police who were called to an out-of-control house party of more than 200 people in Brisbane.

Officers were called to the gathering on Ney Road and Wildflower Street in Capalaba at 10.15pm on Saturday.

When police arrived, revellers allegedly started to throw bottles at them.

The PolAir helicopter was called to help.

Officers went inside the house and say a number of people ran.

A 43-year-old man was found unresponsive and was given CPR after a reported medical episode.

He was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

A 16-year-old girl who had collapsed was taken to Redland Hospital in a stable condition.

Three other people were assessed by paramedics and two were taken home by a relative.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested.

He was charged with assaulting police and street offences.

The teenager is due to appear in the Cleveland Children’s Court on October 16.

Police want anyone CCTV, home security or dashcam footage to come forward.
